  • Free donation testing is available to eligible donors at participating centers: one available donation panel or up to two eligible individual tests. Donation panels are more limited than paid panels.
  • No* means that we could not find any public documentation of these features as of 2026-10-26.
  • Goodlabs paid draws are not available in Hawaii, Rhode Island, or U.S. territories. Test and location availability vary; find a donation center for the separate donation pathway.
  • Ulta's standard draw fee is $12.95 and can be higher at some locations. Test and collection availability vary by location. Prices checked 2026-10-26.
  • Ulta doesn't offer telehealth itself. Practices that use Ulta's professional accounts can link their own telemedicine service, so availability and fees depend on the practice. A standard test order doesn't include a consultation.

Goodlabs gives you two ways to get bloodwork, and neither needs a membership. Donate blood at a partner blood center and get your chosen tests run from the same visit for free, or buy only the tests you want and get them drawn at a partner lab. Ulta Lab Tests sells individual tests and packages, adds a draw fee ($12.95 at most locations) at checkout, and collects at patient service centers. Regardless of if you order tests with Goodlabs, you can access free tools to monitor your results. You can even upload bloodwork from outside of Goodlabs into the platform.

  • Free testing through donation. Eligible donors at participating centers can get selected tests for $0.
  • Share a panel or try someone else's. Build your own test list or discover panels from other people.
  • Bring your past lab reports. Upload older reports for free and track them alongside new ones.

Paid testing follows a similar model: selected tests plus a draw fee. Goodlabs also offers free testing through eligible donations, with different test and collection options.

Goodlabs offers donation testing alongside paid tests

Ulta collects paid tests at patient service centers. With Goodlabs, choose between free testing through a donation and paid tests at a partner lab.

Free testing through donation

Book a donation through Goodlabs at a partner blood center. Today that means select Vitalant, Inova, Blood Assurance, Bloodworks Northwest, and LifeStream locations. The tubes for your tests are drawn during the same donation, so there is no second appointment or second needle. Your blood goes to patients who need it, and your results go to your Goodlabs account.

Eligible donors choose one donation panel or up to two eligible individual tests, at no cost. The blood center pays Goodlabs a referral fee for each completed donation, and that fee covers your testing. Donation panels include fewer tests than the paid versions, and the center decides who can donate that day. You can get free testing every 56 days at most partner centers, or twice a year at Blood Assurance.

Buy directly from Goodlabs

Pick individual tests, a Goodlabs-made panel, or your own custom panel. You pay for the tests you choose plus a draw fee per visit, with the full total shown before checkout. You don't need a doctor's visit or insurance. Your blood is drawn at a partner lab: Quest, Labcorp, or BioReference (BioReference in New York and New Jersey).

Barry can help you choose tests, put together a panel, find available appointments, and book at participating locations.

To give an example on how Goodlabs can save you money, you can get the same measured markers as Ulta's General Health Basic Plus panel through Goodlabs for $58 at Quest with Goodlabs, including the draw fee. Ulta labels this panel “Most Popular” and lists it at $188.95 plus its standard $12.95 draw fee.

* Prices checked 2026-10-26. Promotions and location fees can change the comparison. The measured markers match; Goodlabs also includes iron-binding tests, while Ulta lists an additional calculated LDL/HDL ratio.

Share a Goodlabs panel or try someone else's

Ulta's professional accounts can offer custom panels through a practice's storefront. With Goodlabs, individuals can build and share a panel themselves, or discover public panels made by others and use their selections. Share a link with friends or family so they can order the same tests. Your results stay private to you.

Goodlabs adds AI to your lab reports

Both services let you view your results online and see how your levels change from one test to the next. Ulta includes explanations and reference ranges. Goodlabs includes biomarker explanations plus Barry, a free AI assistant you can ask about your results.

Ask Barry what a marker measures or how it relates to the rest of your report. If you have older lab reports, you can upload them for free and view them alongside new results for more context. Clinician review and telehealth are coming soon to Goodlabs.

You can also use your preferred AI assistant with Goodlabs to explore your biomarker values and history. Your uploads, tracking, and Barry are free even if you haven't bought a test or made a donation.

Should you choose Goodlabs or Ulta Lab Tests?

Choose Goodlabs if: you want free bloodwork through an eligible donation, or paid tests you can choose individually and share as a custom panel. Uploads, tracking, and Barry are all free with Goodlabs. We also offer paid testing in New York and New Jersey through BioReference, where Ulta doesn't sell tests.

Choose Ulta Lab Tests if: it carries a specific test you need that Goodlabs doesn't offer yet, such as a genetic test or DNA kit. Genetic uploads and genome sequencing are coming soon to Goodlabs. Missing a test? Tell us what you'd like us to add.
