What is Immature Granulocytes (absolute)?

Absolute Immature Granulocyte (IG) Count measures the total number of immature granulocytes (promyelocytes, myelocytes, metamyelocytes) per volume of blood. Presence of IGs indicates increased bone marrow production, often due to infection, inflammation, or stress ('left shift'). High counts can also suggest hematologic malignancies.
