What is Tryptase?

Tryptase is a mast cell mediator used primarily to evaluate mast cell activation, anaphylaxis, and disorders such as systemic mastocytosis. Elevated baseline or event-related levels can support mast cell disorder workups, while lower levels are generally expected outside of acute mast cell activation.
