What is EPA + DPA + DHA?
EPA, DPA, and DHA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids primarily found in marine sources such as fish oil, krill oil, and algae. EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) is known for its powerful anti-inflammatory properties and its role in supporting heart health, mood regulation, and immune function. DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) is essential for brain development and cognitive function, especially during pregnancy and early childhood, and also contributes to eye and nerve health. DPA (Docosapentaenoic Acid), though less well-known, is structurally similar to EPA and DHA and may act as a reserve, converting into either when needed, while also offering unique cardiovascular benefits. Together, these three fatty acids form the most bioactive and beneficial components of omega-3 intake, playing critical roles in maintaining overall health and preventing chronic disease.
