What is DHA?
Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA, 22:6n-3) is a crucial long-chain omega-3 fatty acid vital for brain structure and function, eye health (retina), and cardiovascular health. It has anti-inflammatory properties. DHA is obtained from fatty fish, algae, or synthesized inefficiently from ALA. Maintaining adequate DHA levels (contributes significantly to the Omega-3 Index) is important throughout life, especially during pregnancy and early development.
