SPINA-GT

SPINA-GT estimates the maximum thyroid hormone production capacity of the gland under TSH stimulation. It is calculated from TSH and Free T4 and reflects the structural functional reserve of the thyroid. Low values suggest reduced secretory capacity (e.g. primary hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's, iodine deficiency), while high values suggest increased capacity (e.g. primary hyperthyroidism, Graves' disease). Not sensitive to isolated secondary (pituitary) disorders.
