Learn what Sitosterol measures and how it fits into your health data.

What is Sitosterol?

Sitosterol is a common plant sterol structurally similar to cholesterol. Elevated absolute blood levels (e.g., ug/mL or mg/L) indicate increased cholesterol absorption from the gut. Along with Campesterol, it helps assess dietary cholesterol absorption efficiency. Ensure you are inputting the absolute value (e.g., ug/mL or mg/L), not a ratio relative to total cholesterol.
