What is Nucleated RBC (%)?

Nucleated Red Blood Cells (NRBCs or normoblasts) are immature RBC precursors that still contain a nucleus. They are normally found only in bone marrow, not peripheral blood of adults (except newborns). Their presence in circulation indicates severe bone marrow stress (e.g., severe anemia, hypoxia, massive hemorrhage), significant hemolysis, or certain hematologic disorders/malignancies. Reported as % of WBCs or absolute number.
