What is Ferritin (Adj. for Inflammation)?

Inflammation-adjusted ferritin corrects serum ferritin for the confounding effects of inflammation using hsCRP and albumin. Ferritin is an acute-phase reactant that rises with inflammation, masking true iron deficiency. This regression-based correction (Namaste et al.) adjusts ferritin downward when CRP is elevated and albumin is low, providing a more accurate reflection of iron stores.
