HOMA2-IR

HOMA2-IR (Homeostatic Model Assessment 2 – Insulin Resistance) estimates insulin resistance from fasting glucose and insulin using the updated HOMA2 model. HOMA2 accounts for non-linear relationships and is more accurate than HOMA-IR. Higher values indicate greater insulin resistance. Low values are seen in carbohydrate deficit states (malnutrition, marathon runners).
