What is HDL Size?

Average HDL size (nm or Å) reflects the typical diameter of HDL particles. Larger HDL particles are generally associated with better HDL function (e.g., cholesterol efflux capacity) and lower cardiovascular risk compared to smaller HDL particles. This measurement adds qualitative information to the quantitative HDL-C and Apo A-I levels.
