Learn what Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) IgA measures and how it fits into your health data.

What is Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) IgA?

IgA antibodies to deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) are used to help diagnose celiac disease. These antibodies target specific gluten peptides that have been modified by the enzyme tissue transglutaminase. This test has a higher specificity for celiac disease compared to older anti-gliadin antibody tests. A positive result is a strong indicator of celiac disease, particularly when found with other markers like tTG-IgA.
