What is ENA Panel?

Extractable Nuclear Antigen (ENA) Panel tests for autoantibodies against specific nuclear antigens (proteins) that can be extracted from cell nuclei. Common antigens included are Sm, RNP, SSA (Ro), SSB (La), Scl-70, and Jo-1. Identifying specific ENA antibodies helps diagnose and differentiate various systemic autoimmune diseases like SLE, mixed connective tissue disease, Sjögren's, scleroderma, and polymyositis.
